Ty White

Director + Regional Coordinator - Western USA

Ty White earned his Bachelor's in Secondary Education - Chemistry from Arizona State University, and his Master's degree from the University of Arizona focused on STEM Education through the Teachers in Industry Program.

Ty currently teaches at Willcox High School in rural south-eastern Arizona. He has mentored student projects all the way to the International Science and Engineering Fair, participated in the Racing the Sun program hosted by SARSEF, and is currently piloting a class research project examining soil properties with his Chemistry classes. Upon first being invited to participate in Space Settlement Design Competitions, he saw the immediate value in the challenge, in the career exposures, the soft skill training, and the opportunity for kids who don't always have a lot of opportunities to work with actual Aerospace Engineers.

Ty has recently been recognized by the National Rural Education Association as the 2022 National Rural Teacher of the Year, and by the Arizona Education Foundation as the Arizona State Teacher of the Year. Ty lives with his amazing and beautiful wife, Lori, and his precocious daughter Arya.
