David Shaw

David’s passion for engineering began with his mechanical engineering undergraduate thesis, which was completed as part of a six month placement in a processing mill in a remote corner of Papua New Guinea.

He then began his formal career as a site-based mechanical engineer in Australia, working across reliability engineering, asset management, and project management functions – including several large-scale projects that had some deep synergies with the water and wastewater sectors.

He also served for eight years as a Lieutenant in the Australia Army Reserve, leading infantry platoons in several regional units.

In 2016 he joined RedEye Apps to develop a global Customer Success function, helping asset owners across the globe transform some of the foundational aspects of their engineering practices.

In 2018 he relocated to the USA, where he is now responsible for all aspects of RedEye’s activities in the utilities, municipalities, and resource sectors.

He has a Masters of Engineering from the University of South Australia, is a certified Professional Engineer, and has over a decade’s worth of experience in practical, foundational, hands-on engineering,

He lives in Salt Lake City, and in his spare time is either volunteering with a number of high-school science competitions, or in the mountains - trail running in the summer and skiing in the winter.
