SPACE SETTLEMENT DESIGN COMPETITIONS
CANADA + USA
The International Space Settlement Design Competition - also known as the ISSDC, or SpaceSet - is a global engineering design competition that has been running since 1984.
The Brief: students form 'companies' - simulating industry - and are given a professional set of industry requirements, outlining a new space settlement to be designed. Companies must prepare a functional design that meets these requirements, and deliver a business brief back to a panel of industry expert judges.
Every year, thousands of students from across the globe participate in Regional Finals, for the opportunity to travel to the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida to compete in the International Space Settlement Design Competition.
InSimEd is proud to support SpaceSet events in Canada and the United States.
SUMMER SPACE CHALLENGE CUP
2021. Virtual. Sign Up Now.
In 2021 we will be running a week long summer camp for middle school students!
Use your summer to learn more about engineering, science, and space than you ever thought possible!
Connect with like-minded students from across the country. Students just like you - that share a passion for space, and maybe one way want to pursue a career in the space sector.
And - more importantly - challenge yourself. Do you have what it takes to design space infrastructure, and take humans to the stars?
Coming in the 21/22 School Year
Beginning in August 2021, InSimEd will be offering the North American round of the Galactic Challenge - a global space design competition for middle school students!
